45. Character Correlation Diagram, from the Start of Episode III to before the Ending
This outlines the relationships of people in the Lower Domain up until just before Eternal Recurrence was prevented. With Wilhelm in the center, and the Testaments that had become imaginary-domain existences as an axis, various people form complicated relationships. The sentiments of so many people fold and overlap, and countless lives and deaths mix together, and with an unending number of stories being threaded, time continues to be spun towards just one ending. That very thing was Wilhelm's aim.

<<The Rise of New Organizations>>
　　　　Dimitri Yuriev, whose figure had vanished from the forefront of the stage of history, revived by using the body of the Kukai Foundation's Representative Director, Gaignun Kukai. And by doing so, he conspired with the parliament's Salvator Faction, reemerged into the Federation Government, and began to strong-arm them.
　　　　Also, the anti-UMN organization Scientia, via contact with Shion who had resigned from Vector, came into deep contact with the darkness spreading in back of the UMN.
　　　　The movement of these things was also not unconnected to Wilhelm.

<<Testament>>
　　　　Following the instruction of Wilhelm, the Testaments acted to implement Eternal Recurrence. They acted so that certain people would incite the awakening of the Vessels of Anima; so that certain people would incite the awakening of Maria; and so that certain people would eliminate those who would interfere {iffy}
　　　　At the heart of those actions were each one's own strong thought. They selected by their own will, not the commanded action itself, but a situation that was gained as a result of it, and carried it out as their own desire. By that meaning, the same as the other people, these men also were made to dance by way of Wilhelm's expectation.

<<Wilhelm's Intention>>
　　　　Even Wilhelm, the one behind everything, loses all memory by Eternal Recurrence.
　　　　Wilhelm, too, at the same time that Eternal Recurrence is achieved, forgets everything, and returns to an original state. He returns to a state where the meaning of his own existence, the reason, the purpose, the role-- all of it is unknown. It is the same as with all humans who worry about and grope for the meaning of their birth and the reason they live.
　　　　By gazing at the human consciousness that streams through the Compass of Order, he comes to understand the world. By gazing at the human hearts that live in the world and by understanding the world that surrounds himself, he comes to discover what he himself can do. And then, realizing that the world is drawing near to the crisis of collapse, in order to avoid it, he considers what can be done. What could he do? What should he do? What would he do?
　　　　Although many people seek a glorious dream during their short lifetimes, wish for a life that is full of glitz, and utilize their surroundings to gain economic strength and authority, Wilhelm acted thinking only to save the world from crisis.
　　　　His actions of forming the root of every organization and spinning society and history from behind the scenes were completely altruistic.
　　　　For thousands of years of history, many people's quiet everyday lives had to change into blood-smeared nightmares. Politics were spun; economics was controlled, and civilization was utilized. There was even so much hateful and cursed words raised that it was incalculable.
　　　　And Wilhelm, clearly conscious of the aim for Eternal Recurrence, recognizes that history such as this will once again repeat. In order to repeat a blood-smeared history, history will continue to be stained in blood. Because, if the world that wants to cover its eyes is not affirmed, the very world itself will completely vanish.
　　　　Only someone who possesses an unwavering resolve is able to accomplish that; it was a superhuman choice. That blood-stained choice cannot be judged by such things as the laws that differ according to nation, nor by morals that change according to era, nor by the standard of values that sway within an individual heart; it was something beyond good and evil. Therefore, he couldn't speak his own thoughts. That's because wishing for understanding is a desire for oneself to be given acceptance. He resigned even desire such as that. It was only just to save the world from the threat of annihilation.

08. Why was there Contact with U-Do through the UMN Organic Transference Experiments?
The test subjects of the Living Organism Transfer Experiments through the UMN came into contact with the upper-domain existence U-Do within imaginary space, and became implanted with a fear that could not be wiped away. Why did they come into contact with the Upper Domain's U-Do while within the UMN which utilized the imaginary number domain of the Lower Domain?

When humans, who are real-number domain type existences, conducted living organism transfers that utilized the UMN, the reason that they ended up coming into contact with U-Do was because U-Do was conducting observation in the imaginary number domain, as per the graph. Without utilizing hyperspace and the like, by penetrating directly into imaginary space, they end up coming into direct contact with U-Do.

<<U-Do's Observation in the Imaginary Domain>>
　　　　In order for U-Do, who exists in the upper domain, to observe the movement of the consciousness of humans who exist in the lower domain, U-Do must make contact with both the imaginary and real number domains.
　　　　U-Do's contact goes especially deep with the imaginary domain. 
　　　　In the imaginary number domain, which isn't broken up into individual parts as much as the real number domain, information cannot be protected. Actually, each consciousness is in such a freed state that the consciousnesses of the dead in the real number domain come to want to reject intimate relationships with others {iffy}.
　　　　In other words, the imaginary domain was an easier place for U-Do to observe human consciousness than the real-number domain.
　　　　For that reason, U-Do reached deep into the imaginary domain.
　　　　And so, U-Do had spread its observation hand into the deepest regions of the Collective Unconscious, which exists in the imaginary domain. And at the bottom of the Collective Unconscious, U-Do concealed itself as Abel's Ark, and watched human consciousness meld into and escape out from the Collective Unconscious, and observed the Collective Unconscious itself.
　　　　Because of that situation, the consciousness of a human that had undergone a Living Organism Transfer or a net-holic that penetrated deep into the UMN came into contact with U-Do, which was observing human consciousness in the depths of the UMN.

<<Release of Those Consciousness that Recognize Being Observed>>
　　　　The consciousness of those of us humans who are observed by U-Do and recognize U-Do are in a closed-off state in the real-number domain. A consciousness that had been limited by the function of the body in the real number domain cannot necessarily obtain as much information of their surroundings as a consciousness that was released in the imaginary number domain. A consciousness protected by the armor of flesh builds a wall between itself and others, and in exchange for peace of mind that can be obtained from protecting itself from the surroundings, the fewer the benefits obtainable from the surroundings.
　　　　However, by entering into the imaginary domain, enclosed consciousnesses such as those are suddenly released.
　　　　It may also be a release that some humans do not desire. This release is a dangerous situation experienced by the subjects of the living organism transfer experiments, those net-holics who make frequent habitual UMN dives, and the like.
　　　　Being released like this, a consciousness falls into an unprotected state, and becomes a suitable subject of observation for U-Do which observes the imaginary domain from deep in the heart of the UMN.

<<U-Do's Means of Observation>>
　　　　U-Do's act of observation is a link to consciousness. At the same time that U-Do observes existences of the lower domain, those who are observed also become aware of U-Do.
　　　　It is a heart-to-heart link; an intimate contact of fellow freed consciousness. Strictly speaking, it is unclear whether or not U-Do can be called a heart or consciousness, but as a concept, it is considered to be something of the sort.
　　　　And so, this is the contact between U-Do and human consciousness in the imaginary domain.

<<Contamination by U-Do>>
　　　　Those who have made contact with U-Do become aware of the vision of the future that U-Do perceives, and they become frightened.
　　　　Also, due to this link to an upper-domain existence, Dmitri Yuriev, who was the first test subject of the living organism transfer experiments, gained the ability to manipulate the link between the real and imaginary domains. Specifically, it is the ability to perform {spiritual} possession at will; the attachment and detachment of consciousness from flesh.
　　　　The germination of this kind of fear and the acquisition of an ability that excels in the lower domain is called "contamination by U-Do".
　　　　A so-called U-Do Simulator exists, but this was something Dmitri Yuriev constructed during the process of URTV development, and it is a system that generates a mock-U-Do wave that imitates U-Do. It is also confirmed to be true that a URTV had been contaminated by this U-Do Simulator.
　　　　Due to its contamination, alteration of a URTV's body has been confirmed, as well as reflexive aggression due to an aggressive consciousness or a loss of consciousness.
　　　　Because the U-Do Simulator was something that Yuriev built based on the memory of U-Do's contact, U-Do itself is something entirely different, and ultimately it was nothing more than an imitation of the U-Do that Yuriev perceived. However, it was still enough to cause the outbreak of the "Contamination" phenomenon.

<<Drive Operation>>
　　　　U-Do, called the "Unus Mundus Drive Operation", only came to be known as the control system of the Zohar which functioned as the core of U-Do within the last few hundred years.
　　　　The UMN itself has existed since the era of Lost Jerusalem, but from the time of the escape from the Earth's range until hyperspace navigation became possible, the name "Unus Mundus Drive Operation" did not exist. In addition, the very existence of U-Do was unknown.
　　　　U-Do's existence began to attract attention like nowadays about 300 years ago when the living organism transfer experiments were being conducted, with Dmitri Yuriev having become one of the test subjects.
　　　　And so, human beings became aware of U-Do because contact with U-Do at the depths of the UMN came to be confirmed. For that reason, humanity became strongly conscious of the relation between U-Do and the UMN, and so it was dubbed as UMN's Drive Operation. The ones that decided on that name were the implementers of the hyperspace drive: Vector Industries. However, because Wilhelm must have been aware of U-Do's true nature, this name is thought to have been produced in order to blind the eyes of humanity.

39. What is the Connection Between Nephilim and Abel?
After Nephilim disappeared on Lost Jerusalem, it is said that Abel appeared. Is there perhaps some kind of meaning that these events coincided? Also, why would U-Do's observation terminal Abel draw a portrait of Nephilim?

<<Nephilim's Disappearance>>
　　　　In the era of Lost Jerusalem, the Zohar was discovered at Lake Turkana in Kenya, and during the Zohar's link experiments, the first test subject, Nephilim, vanished. Due to Program Lemegeton, which her father, Grimoire, wrote from having deciphered ancient documents, Nephilim came into contact with U-Do and shifted to the imaginary number domain.

<<U-Do Watches Nephilim Intently>>
　　　　U-Do sensed something special in Nephilim. Although she was a human who existed in the lower domain, she felt as if somehow different from other humans.
　　　　Therefore, Nephilim became a special target of observation for U-Do.
　　　　In fact, even after Nephilim came into contact with U-Do, she never took selfish, hostile, or treacherous actions like Yuriev or Voyager who had fear carved into them, nor did she fall to the madness of contamination.
　　　　This was what indicated Nephilim's unique characteristics, and it was the reason that U-Do recognized Nephilim as something special.
　　　　And, actually, Nephilim may have been endowed with something that U-Do was looking for.

<<Nephilim After She Disappeared>>
　　　　After her disappearance on Lost Jerusalem, Nephilim, as an imaginary domain type existence, received a vision of the future from U-Do, and based on that, she eventually made contact with specific people of the real domain.
　　　　She believed in the possibility that the collapse of everything in the universe could be avoided; she believed in the possibility that the annihilation of the Dimensional Universe by the Failsafe could be avoided.

　　　　U-Do, who had achieved contact with Nephilim, further wished to observe Nephilim from many sides. For that purpose, it began to observe the imaginary domain's Nephilim from the real domain as well, and extended its observation terminal into the real number domain. That was the appearance of Abel.
　　　　And that was the reason that Abel's appearance coincided with Nephilim's disappearance.
　　　　As a result, although Abel possesses various functions as an observation terminal of the real number domain, his first priority is to observe Nephilim from the real domain side.
　　　　For this very reason, Abel has interest in Nephilim. Abel drew Nephilim's portrait because he was always conscious of her as a special target for observation.

thanks, that has been bugging me. so then we can conclude that U-DO didn't have any observational terminal for the real number domain before he discovered Nephilim in the imaginary number domain. i guess there just wasn't anything of interest in the real number domain before.

[Abel The Contact]

Well it seemed Abel's Ark who was chilling in the imaginary realm was doing all the dirty work beforehand. Like Pellegri said it appeared to observe at the time of the crucifixion.

Seems Abel was mainly 'incarnated' as an observer in the physical realm to observe Nephilim in the imaginary realm from the physical side. To me it's almost the opposite of XG of how Elly was created for Abel through his desire for a mother but also as a tool for the Wave Existence to use for its own ends which is freeing itself.

Whereas in XS Abel is created for roughly the sole purpose of observing Nephilim, but as a tool for the Wave Existence U-DO's own ends which is to observe Nephilim and her "special qualities" [spoiler]pervert!  [/spoiler]
Not to mention both Elly and Abel are essentially the embodiements of the -wills- of their respective Wave Existences, though both seeming to possess wills of their own as well.

[Abel The Contact]

I don't think Abel's Ark appearing at the crucifixion has anything to do with Ormus telling lies  It seemed more like an offhand account or something almost factual, possibly historical. And it was a pretty big moment in human history so of course U-DO would want to observe it.

While yes Ormus was technically a faux organization for Wilhelm's purposes, it seemed that mainly what Ormus's ultimate goal was, that everyone in the organization had been aiming for, was the main falsehood. It's sorta like religions of today, while they may not be true, most still teach good values and things of worth. Their beginnings may not be legit, but things that spurned from them can still be of value. (to one person or another at least... )

　　　　Lemegeton is called "The Word of God". However, the concept of this "God" does not indicate something specific.
　　　　From the point of view of humans who are imprisoned in the real number domain, all existence that transcends themselves is believed to be something God-like.
　　　　Be it a phenomenon or an energy or existence itself, these God-like subjects exist in countless numbers.
　　　　From the real number domain, the imaginary and upper domains are both transcendental things, and power that relies on those places all become "God-like power".
　　　　In other words, "God" is not some single existence; "things like God" exist in countless numbers. Man longs for an existence that transcends himself.

<<Messiah>>
　　　　In the era of ancient Lost Jerusalem, there existed a man who was called the "Messiah".
　　　　Surrounding him, various plots unfolded, and events even to the extent of having sway on the very existence of the universe were produced.
　　　　However, the Messiah himself was only just a human. Maria, who was the partner of the Messiah and bearer of the power of Animus, and chaos, who was his closest friend and bearer of the power of Anima; the two of them performed various miracles.
　　　　The Messiah, by himself, was not able to perform miracles. However, he supervised those who performed such miracles, and while utilizing those phenomena, he was adept at guiding the hearts of people. And such an existence is something that is difficult to replace by anyone.

<<Relics of God>>
　　　　Zarathustra, Merkabah, Omega, etc, are among the things referred to as the "Relics of God".
　　　　Based on writings that documented the Word of God, these things were built by the hand of men in an extremely ancient era of Lost Jerusalem.
　　　　The writings that made note of these Relics of God were the same thing as the writings where Lemegeton was recorded, and the knowledge of God which chaos provided was translated into the language of man so that the Messiah could entrust it to the people.
　　　　Although those writings had already been completely lost, by not having lost the Relics of God that had been constructed, even in the present day after thousands of years had past, their immense power are utilized.
　　　　The relics of God were scattered when Lost Jerusalem vanished, but their recovery progressed due to the Ormus that had been organized in order to collect them, and they became usable once again by mankind.

Through Maria's revival using KOS-MOS as a vessel, the power of Animus awakened. Why did that Animus power go to dwell in Nephilim, not KOS-MOS? And, what becomes of the powers of Anima and Animus by the domain shift to Lost Jerusalem?

The power of Animus took the form of Maria from the era of ancient Lost Jerusalem, and likewise, the power of Anima became the form of chaos from that same era. Then, with the power of Anima dwelling in chaos, the power of Animus went to dwell in Nephilim.
　　　　Why did the power of Animus dwell in Nephilim and not KOS-MOS?
　　　　It was because the consciousness of Maria that was within KOS-MOS wished it.
　　　　Abel chose to remain in the real number domain, and Nephilim made a matching decision to his {iffy}. Believing that such a new existence would become a new possibility that clears a way for the future, the power of Animus was passed down to a new generation.

<<Animus and Maria's Consciousness>>
　　　　Having revived within the KOS-MOS vessel, Maria's consciousness separated the power of Animus from herself, and she entrusted only that power of Animus to Nephilim.

　　　　For the domain shift, the wandering consciousnesses were gathered into the cradle within Nephilim. The focusing of the consciousnesses was the manifestation of the power of Animus. However, the Gnosis feared even that kind of focusing, and tried to reject it. It was difficult to guide all of the consciousnesses.
　　　　KOS-MOS, or rather, Maria volunteered herself to protect Abel, Nephilim, and chaos from the rejecting, ambushing Gnosis. It was also in order to protect Shion's future. And, also again, it was for Maria to atone for not being able to protect the Maiden in the extremely ancient era of Lost Jerusalem.

　　　　The power of Animus that dwelled in Nephilim; the power of Anima that dwelled in chaos; U-DO who remained in the real number domain; and the Zohar.
　　　　These things, which had existed in the era of ancient Lost Jerusalem, were the reappearance of the relationship that links, in the real domain, power of the imaginary domain to the upper domain.
　　　　They gathered up the many rejecting consciousnesses that were causing the crisis of the scattering of the universe, and made a dimensional shift to Lost Jerusalem.
　　　　On Lost Jerusalem, they would weave a new history.
　　　　In order to construct such a history, the power of Anima and Animus may perhaps come to be used once again.
　　　　For the sake of widening the possibility of the future.
