Don't mind B.K haha He's trying to allude to the fact that Takahashi was no longer the director after Episode I, but then again, he did do Episode I and II on DS and Episode III was "Supervisor of Scenario and Database". Episode I & II on DS fleshed things out a bit more, added some stuff, and made both games from Shion's perspective still rather than Shion for ep 1 and Jr for Ep 2. It also better connected to Episode III as well.

Hm.F air enough then. So events basically played out the same in the DS version thugh, right? At least for Episode 1? Gnosis attack Woglinde, absorbed into Cathedral Ship, Cherenkov Gnosified and killed, going into the Encephelon, going to the Song and then finishing it all up at Proto Merkabah? Thanks for all the quick and informative replies by the way.

Yeah, most everything was more or less the same, just additions of various scenes and people that didn't originally appear in the two eps. Much more fleshed out

Hm. Very interesting links. Thanks.
The changes in EP1 seem very minor thankfully. I would kinda feel lame playing the game again while thinking "everything in here is wrong."

Considering how the new team took over the series and rewrote everything, can we really consider Episode I and the ODM as being canon anymore?
I would switch that around. To me Takahashi's writing is canon, which makes Episode II and III what I struggle with to recognize as true canon. In any case, it does seem like at least the database and the Truth of Xenosaga/Perfect Guide were written by Takahashi, since it's written in his 'Perfect Works style'.

And another question. What's up with the Kirschwasser in Simeon? It's at the very end of this clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vY5cufp4e6oShe's just sitting there in it and then goes "poof". I always thought it was some kind of weird hologram since that Kirschwasser was the one impersonating MOMO, right? And she was lying dead on the ground after Jr.'s outburst. Well she kind of just vanished after Albedo's vision but I assuemd she died. Still, a guy on another forum suggested it's the same one and she got up, climbed into Simeon and it "ate" her or something... I just don't know what to think since it's nto very clear.

The Vessel of Anima absorbed her and her shining will to help increase Simeon's power I believe

Since when did Vessels of Anima do that?

Vessels of Anima always end up absorbing the user, eventually. In Xenosaga I&II, Wilhelm talks to chaos and mentions the Vessels absorbing their users during the Jupiter Crisis.

...huh.
Talk about a critical storytelling failure on their part. I don't even think the Perfect Guide mentions that. Though maybe I need to read over that part again.
Oh well. Learn something new everyday I guess.
