Hello, I need some tips for the last boss on DDS. I have been stuck in battle for almost an hour and have been killed like 5 times now. I get the just of taking out a core and using that mantra to blast her, but I am having trouble with status effects. Any tips?

I hardly remember the fight anymore. I know I always destroyed one core and then tried to destroy all the others more or less simultaneously by casting masses of spells of the corresponding element that hit all enemies. Whenever all cores, or at least all cores that could hurt me (casting a element absorbtion spell on your group helps a lot to reduce the enemies turns) I blasted everything I have on Angel or whatever her demons name is.
It helps a lot to level grind a bit, go for hunting and learn abilities that can help you. A perfect ability configuration is more than half your way to the win.
Sorry that I can't help more.

Well, there's little that you can do against Hunger Wave aside from waiting for Sera to heal you. The status effects of Vanity can be nullified for the most part. You simply have to learn the proper ability. If I recall correctly, there are a few mantras that teach various status protection abilities and one that nullifies all of them. Learning them may not be neccesary though. The most important thing is to make sure that only one core is alive at a time, as that makes her unable to use some of her best attacks, which should in turn make the status ailments more managable. You may also want to learn the mantra that gives you salvation, as that heals your party to full and cures most status ailments. Also, if you haven't done so already you should try doing most of the sidequests, as they give you extra mantras and in general more preparation for the boss.
I haven't played this in awhile so my memory about some things might be fuzzy, but doing a few of those should make it easier.

My memory is hazy on this fight too, but I'd just make sure to have every null status up as possible, and just us magic attacks. Make sure you have people with heal magic, though. I tired to keep two of the cores destroyed each turn, so I could make an attack per turn (This didn't always happened, though). It's a tedious, long fight, but you'll get through it.

Sanna pretty much summed up what the faq says if I remember correctly. There are two nulls you need on each character but I forget which ones and you want to destroy every core while getting one attack in, it shouldn't take too long and the only thing to worry with this strategy is having your magic stats high enough.

I personaly had boost'ed and amp'ed Bufudyne (Serph) and Agidyne (Heat). Null Charm and Magic Charge on everyone. It would be cool if anyone had at least one elemental 'drain' skill on them because with this we can steal boss turns quite easily. Now, 1st turn - Serph wait, Heat Magic Boost, third char wait, Serph Magic Boost, Heat shoots Agidyne into blizzard orb (but dont destroy it). Next turn, Serph wait, Heat next Agidyne (should destroy blizzard orb by now), third char heal/wait, Serph boosted Bufudyne into boss.
It will take a while but its nice strategy;].
Yeah, its cool digging up the topic from the dephts of message board:P
